"her
voice shimmers and soars,
ever so tastefully, from one fine song
to the next." Gene
Shay of WXPN-FM
Patti's
strong performance, well-crafted, acoustic/pop songs and amazing voice
have become the hallmarks of Patti Shea, The Artist. She commands attention,
weaving her audience through themes of life and love that are both universal
and introspective.
Within the last three years, Patti’s had the good fortune to have
shared the stage with Kathy Mattea, Sandra Bernhard, Boz Scaggs,
Catie Curtis, Patty Larkin, America, Dan Fogelberg, Richard Elliot, Tom
Rush, Karla Bonoff, Livingston Taylor, Acoustic Alchemy and Alison Krauss
& Union Station.
She is currently working with coach/manager Kari Estrin
in Nashville, and is honored to be working with Crit Harmon
(Catie Curtis, Martin Sexton, Susan Werner) in Boston on her next, long-awaited
CD project. Abroad, she works with high-profile manager Mel Stein in London.
Recent recordings include songs produced by Greg Haver (Manic
Street Preachers, Catatonia) of Big Noise in Cardiff, Wales,
and Shelly Yakus, world re-known engineer, of A&M/LA
fame.
Her song "Slow Burn" was voted ‘Best
Rock Song’ in the 2000 JPFolks Music Awards. JPFolks
is a 19,000 member on-line songwriting organization and resource.
As an award winning songwriter, Patti was a finalist in the 1994 Kerrville
Emerging Songwriter's Competition in Texas and was hand picked
by Rosanne Cash to participate in her ‘Essence
of Songwriting’ workshop at the Omega Institute.
Patti's first CD, "Comets Collide," received
rave reviews. WXPN (AAA, Phila.) honored it by playing
a great number of cuts, including the cover of Boz Scaggs "I'll Be
Long Gone."
The Friday Morning Quarterback complimented Shea by calling
her, "an artist who shows incredible promise and musical maturity
